MARTIN O’NEILL SPEAKS AFTER DRESSING-ROOM CONTROVERSY FOLLOWS CELTIC’S 1–0 DEFEAT

Martin O’Neill has spoken following the dressing-room controversy that emerged after Celtic suffered another disappointing Old Firm defeat against Rangers at Celtic Park.

The 1–0 defeat left Celtic supporters frustrated as Rangers once again came away with a victory in a fiercely contested meeting between the two clubs.

Attention turned to the atmosphere inside the Celtic camp following the final whistle, with the result leading to difficult conversations among the players and coaching staff.

O’Neill has now addressed the situation and made it clear that he remains fully committed to the challenge ahead with Celtic.

Despite the disappointment of the defeat, the Celtic manager continues to believe that his team can respond strongly and compete for silverware.

speaking to CELTIC TV;

“Obviously, the result against Rangers was disappointing, especially here at Celtic Park, and everyone in the dressing room feels that. But we have to stay together, work harder and keep believing. I still believe in this group, and I believe we can respond strongly, compete for trophies and give our supporters something to celebrate.”

O’Neill remains convinced that there is another trophy to be won before his time at Celtic eventually comes to an end. That belief has reportedly been central to his approach as he looks to move the team forward following the latest setback.

The Celtic boss knows that the defeat to Rangers was a painful result for supporters, particularly because it came at Celtic Park.

Playing in front of their own fans, Celtic were expected to produce a stronger performance against their biggest rivals. Instead, Rangers managed to score the decisive goal and hold on to secure another important victory.

The result has naturally raised questions about Celtic’s recent performances and the response that will now be required from the squad.

For O’Neill, however, the focus is on finding solutions rather than allowing the disappointment to dominate the dressing room.

The manager is understood to have spoken to his players about the importance of remaining together during a difficult period.

The dressing-room controversy has added another layer to the aftermath of the defeat, but O’Neill believes the squad must now concentrate on football and prepare for the challenges ahead.

Celtic still have plenty to play for, and the manager’s belief in the team has not disappeared following the defeat.

O’Neill wants his players to use the disappointment as motivation and show a reaction in their next fixtures.

The Celtic manager also understands the frustration of supporters. Losing to Rangers is never easy for the Celtic support, and another defeat against their rivals inevitably creates strong emotions.

However, O’Neill believes the season cannot be judged solely on one result. His message to the squad is understood to be focused on character, consistency and the opportunity to recover.

The manager remains ambitious about what Celtic can achieve and believes there is still an opportunity to bring more silverware to the club.

That confidence will now be tested by how Celtic respond on the pitch.

The coming matches will provide O’Neill and his players with an opportunity to put the latest disappointment behind them and begin rebuilding momentum.

The Celtic boss will also be aware that supporters will expect an immediate improvement in performances.

The 1–0 defeat to Rangers has undoubtedly increased pressure around the team, but O’Neill’s response has been to maintain his belief in what Celtic can accomplish.

Rather than allowing the dressing-room controversy to become a distraction, the manager wants the squad to remain focused on its objectives.

Another trophy remains a major ambition for O’Neill, and he believes Celtic have the ability to achieve it.

The coming weeks will therefore be important for both the manager and his players.

Celtic must find a way to respond to the disappointment at Celtic Park, restore confidence and demonstrate that the latest defeat does not define their season.

the belief remains that there is still something significant to fight for.

The Celtic manager is determined to keep working with his squad, address the problems exposed by the Rangers defeat and push the team towards another trophy.

Now, the responsibility falls on the players to provide the response that O’Neill and the Celtic supporters will be looking for.
